£1MILLION!

On Tuesday 6 December Too Many Women held an end-of-campaign celebration at the beautiful Patrick Mavros shop on the Fulham Road, opposite the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre (where all the money raised from TMW will be going). The event marked the phenomenal achievement of reaching the £1million target and was attended by the Too Many Women Founders, Harry & Catriona, many of the TMW suppporters, Breakthrough Breast Cancer staff, including the Chief Exec Chris Askew and Breakthrough Scientists from the Research Centre, who's pioneering and life-saving breast cancer research work is being funded by the £1million raised by the Too Many Women campaign. It was a really lovely evening filled with conversation about what the million pounds will help fund, how the target was reached and lots of Christmas drinks and mince pies!

Too Many Women Autumn Dinner and All Saints After-Party

£130,500 was raised on the 13th October at the incredible Too Many Women Autumn Dinner & All Saints After-Party at the gorgeous Petersham Nurseries. Thank you to all who supported the event, including our sponsors All Saints & Vault Couture, and of course to all our wonderful guests that helped make this phenomenal amount raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer possible.

Too Many Women Awards Dinner!

Too Many Women scooped TWO awards at the 'oscars of the charity world' - The Institute of Fundraising Awards 2011. It took place on the 4th July at the London Hilton Metropole and Too Many Women beat hundreds of other applicants to the top spots of 'Most Innovative Fundraising Campaign 2011' and Harry & Catriona for 'Volunteer Fundraisers of the Year 2011'! Whoop whoop!

Iron Man Challenge

Bear Maclean took part in the incredible Iron Man Challenge in nice, France on the 26th June. This involved a 2.5 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride followed by a full 26.2 mile marathon! Bear completed the challenge in 12 hours and 34 minutes and has raised an equally impressive £22,000!

Ralph Lauren Wimbledon Summer Party 2011

Jo Miller & Adi Hunter-Cook hosted a very special Ralph Lauren Wimbledon Summer Party on the 21st June at the Ralph Lauren Fulham Road store from 6.30 pm – 9.00 pm for the ‘young and young at heart’. Pimms, champagne, strawberries and other delightful summery treats were on offer (all kindly donated by Ralph Lauren) and tickets for the Men’s Singles Finals Match at Wimbledon were auctioned off raising an amazing £3,750. 15% of sales on the night will also be donated to TMW as will sales in any TMW store whereby people quote ‘Too Many Women’. Sienna & Savannah Miller were among the guests, as were Boris and Lilly Becker and model Liberty Ross.

Kids Fancy Dress Scooter Race

Chrissie Elworthy held a very unique and extremely fun kids fancy-dress scooter race in Battersea Park on the afternoon of the 9th June. Each child was tasked with raising a minimum of £50 in sponsorship and they were hoping to raise about £1,500 in total. Over 28 under fives took part and apparently there was only 1 collision! The event was a huge success and has gone on to raise over £6,000 with money still coming in!

Paris Marathon April 2011

On the 10th April 2011 a team of 11 Too Many Women supporters took on a collective 288.2 miles and the pounding parisienne sun at the Paris Marathon and raised over £18.6K!

Browns Club Monaco Postering Campaign

Browns launched their new Club Monaco Collection in style by getting together an army of people to tackle the streets of London with promotional posters. For every poster stuck up £1 was donated to Too Many Women. A phenomenal £5,000 was raised. Go Browns!

Children's Tea Party

Marilyn German-Ribon, Catriona Blampied and Nicky Sherbrooke organised a brilliant Children's Tea Party on the 28th November at Fulham Palace, with entertainers, face-painting, professional portraits, music and lots of gorgeous Christmas Stalls. They raised well over £5,000 from this one event and also gave lots of little 'uns a perfect day of wintery festive fun!

Georgina Llewelyn's Wine-Tasting Evening

Georgina Llewelyn organised a ‘Call My Bluff’ Wine-Tasting Evening with an auction (one of which was an amazing week-long holiday in a 3 bedroom cottage in the Southwest of France!). Tickets cost £25 with £20 from each ticket being donated to the charity. It took place on the 22 October and raised over £5000.

Georgina Collett's Balloon Competition!

Georgina Collett asked everyone in her office to donate £1 to enter into a 'who's balloon travelled the furthest?' competition. They then released the balloons which had each of their names written on them. If the balloon is found by a member of the public, a tag inside asked them to email the individual letting them know where the balloon ended-up and to encourage them to do this Georgina's work (which is a wine company) will send them a nice bottle of wine!

Charlotte Davies held a book swap evening with a small group of friends on the 29th September. She asked everyone to donate £20 to come along, as well as to bring with them any unwanted books and then enjoy some good company, good food, drinks and a really good selecyion of books to choose from!

Preggers Walk!

Ali Buckley-Sharpe walked 16 miles from Chipping Norton to Woodstock on the 14th August 14th. The sponsored walk was made all the harder by the fact that Ali was 26 weeks pregnant! She not only conquered the walk but also raised over £1,300!

Jo cycled 70 miles around the Isle of Wight on Saturday 21st August! Jo said that her 'idea that the Isle of Wight would be flat and the weather good in August, were both completely wrong! However, it was definitely worth it because of the amazing amount of money raised for Too Many Women". Jo has so far raised over £1,500!

Tessa & Nicky organised a 15 mile walk from Inkpen Beacon to North Oakley with a small group of friends and family and have raised an incredible £8,521 with more donations still coming-in! They raised their money by asking for sponsorship or donations to join the walk and by approaching companies and charitable trusts that they knew for donations.
